Wings fly to perfection!

The South Jersey Wings of Steel have become perfect. After beating the NY Rangers 3 to 0 in the finals sunday afternoon, the wings have cemented a perfect season for the record books.
The wings came out flying, hungry for the right to be called undefeated champions. However the NY goaltender played like Henrik Lundquivst and shut the wings down early. Despite the play of the NY goalie, the wings refused to get frustrated. A motivational speech between the first and second period by captain DJ had the wings fired up. Eventually the wings were too much for the NY goaltender to handle and the wings were able to find the twine three times. Even though one may have thought that there was no way the wings could have improved thier game after a very solid effort in the semifinals, everyone stepped up. The defense was oustanding making the art of stopping the puck very easy for Glenn and Dan to handle. The offense kept pounding at the NY goalie. And the coaching staff and fans of the wings brought thier A games as well. At the end of the day, when Coach norm handed out the medals, the gold went to the wings players and the silver went to the rangers players.

P.S. Thank You coaches and fans for always being there for us and reminding us that what ever happens on the ice to always remember that having fun is the main goal in our sport! Thank you! We could not have gone undefeated without you!!

Wings beat Hammerheads move to finals

The Wings of Steel beat the Hammerheads early saturday morning 3 to 0. The win has propelled the still unbeaten wings into the final game on sunday against the winner of the Rangers vs Vineland. The wings were flown by #20 Mike Wilson as he had two goals and one assist. He assisted the goal of Isahi Beck. All of the players for the Wings had thier skating arms despite the early start time of 6:3o a.m. The passing of the wings was solid and many players crashed the net looking for garbage goals. The 3 to 0 score was upheld by the strong goaltending duo of Dan Wheeler and Glenn Schulz. The wings were also led vocally as well as on the ice by thier captain DJ Hemerka. The wings played a very solid game and now they will put thier undefeated season on the line sunday afternoon in what is sure to be a great final game to the district tournament.
